After matters came out in the press yesterday, people complained to me that the distribution of cash vouchers for Gawai in the sum of RM30-00 by the GPS YBs is an insult to the Dayaks. To them, it shows that Dayaks are cheap and could be "bought" for RM30-00.

It is seen by them as a bribery as the 13th Sarawak elections are around the corner.

It seems that the money used for this Gawai Cash Voucher is from the Rural Transformation Fund. It is said for this Rural Transformation Fund, a YB from GPS government is now allocated a sum of RM11 million annually. Previously it was only RM5 million a year. This is not a small sum from tax payers money. Tax payers money should not be used to "buy" votes.

This is a sin.

A govenment elected by giving away free chicken wings beers and money, will only produce incompetent leaders.

Such giving out of money is Stalin's communist philosophy on how to keep the government in power by like giving grains to the chickens after feathers been plucked and kept hungry by their masters or breeders who although in pain and in cold, after their feathers being plucked, will run back to their breeders to eat the grains thrown on the floor by their breeders.

Stalin's communist philosophy of governance is that, people has to be kept hungry and poor. They can feel the pain of hunger but will come back to praise the government when the government comes back to them with some food, clothings and assistance.

Such Rural Transformation Fund if given as Gawai Cash Vouchers and for the purchase and giving away free chicken wings, beers, money and for merrymaking when GPS YBs meet the people shows that the GPS YBs have no suitable ideas on how to use the money.

This "stomach Infrastructure" policy of giving away of these free chicken wings beers and money to people to temporarily satisfy the stomach of the people is an abuse of the public fund.

It is an insult to our people as they should not be treated as beggars and low class people. We don't want Stalin's communist philosophy on how to treat our people.

These GPS YBs should use the Rural Transformation Fund for small projects such as for repairing damaged roads, broken bridges and to build small paths or agriculture roads so that produce from farms of the people could be transported to towns for sale. It is important that from incomes of their produce, our farmers could buy better machines and equipment to develop their farms so that their farms could produce better yields.

In cities and towns, govenment funds should be used to buy nutritions for students and to repair damaged classrooms and to provide better equipment and learning environment to students, not angpow for Chinese New Year.
