I, Voon Lee Shan, President of Parti Bumi Kenyalang, wish to draw urgent attention to the longstanding and worsening issue faced by residents at Lorong Belian No. 45 (rear portion), particularly at the junction leading to Jalan Albinus main road, near the primary school identified as SUDC No. 4 (SRK Perbandaran Sibu No. 4) in Sibu.
Residents in this area have been enduring significant hardship due to the indiscriminate parking and obstruction caused by motor vehicles, especially during school hours. Vehicles frequently block the entrances to residential homes, preventing residents from freely entering or exiting their own properties. This situation has caused daily frustration, inconvenience, and, more importantly, poses a serious safety concern in the event of emergencies where access is critical.
Despite repeated complaints and appeals to the relevant authorities, there has been little to no effective action taken to resolve this issue. The lack of enforcement and proper traffic management has left residents feeling neglected and desperate.
The people living in this area, including those at 45B Lorong Belian, have the fundamental right to safe and unobstructed access to their homes. It is unacceptable that their concerns have been continuously overlooked.
Therefore, I call upon the relevant authorities, including the local council, traffic enforcement agencies, and the school administrators, to take immediate and decisive action. Measures that should be considered include:
* Strict enforcement against illegal parking and obstruction
* Implementation of clear no-parking zones near residential access points
* Deployment of traffic wardens during peak school hours
* Improved coordination with school authorities to manage traffic flow
This issue must not be allowed to persist any longer. The voices of the residents must be heard, and concrete steps must be taken without delay to restore order, safety, and dignity to the affected community.
Parti Bumi Kenyalang stands firmly with the residents and will continue to advocate for their rights until meaningful action is taken.
Voon Lee Shan
President
